The process of selecting and evaluating proposals submitted in the framework of the 2nd Round of the SGS Call, Europe Aid/155863/DH/ACT/AL, ‘Strengthening Civil Society to Prevent and Protect Children from Abuse and Violence in Albania’, published in 2019, has concluded.
The evaluation process was conducted by the lead organisations, Tdh Albania and ANTARK. They reviewed 51 proposals.
The following initiatives were selected for implementation.

School-based Approach to Prevent and Protect Children from Violence and have a Positive Vision Toward School
Tirana Municipality, administrative units No.9
Overall Objective: Child protection, prevention of violence, enhance positive approach to school
Objective 1: 50 Children, aged 10–15 years, from vulnerable families’ unit no.9 in Tirana, decrease the risk of dropping-out of school and improve academic results.
Objective 2: 50 Children, aged 10–15 years, from vulnerable families’ unit no.9 in Tirana, improve access to educational services, acquire social skills, and reduce vulnerability to violence.

Response to Violence - Direct Services to Child Victims/Potential Victims of Abuse and Violence
Tirana Municipality: 11 municipal units, 10 primary health care centres, 6 police commissariats; the region of Kamza, Selita, Vora, Paskuqani
Overall objective: Provide qualitative child protection and family strengthening services, with a focus on child victims/potential victims of abuse and violence
Objective 1: Providing a response to violence, and empowering prevention & education;
Objective 2: Advocating for local campaigns and priority-setting government agendas.

Enhance Education and Child Protection Systems in Pre-University Schools in Tirana to be more Sensitive, Responsive and Inclusive of Children and Adolescents.
Overall Objective: Enhance education and child protection systems in pre-university schools in Tirana so that they are sensitive, responsive and inclusive of children and adolescents.
Objective I: Strengthen the capacities of psycho-social workers and teachers in Tirana pre-university schools for better prevention, identification, case management, and response to cases of violence against children and adolescents.
Objective 2: Design and present an effective model of safe schools for the pre-university education system in Albania.

Capacity-Building for Service Users, Caregivers and Service Planners Working with Children in Schools in Rural Communities
Kukes Municipality, in five Administrative Units; Shishtavec, Bicaj, Shtiqen, Topojan, and Bardhoc.
Overall Objective: Capacity-building, focusing on trainings for service users, caregivers, and service planners working for children in schools, as the key to improving implementation of the Law on Protection of Children, their rights, health and security services in low-income communities, particularly addressing rural communities in the Kukes Municipality.
Objective 1: Empower children and build the capacities of professionals, their teachers, at 5 schools from rural areas, social workers of CPU and psycho-social units and officials of 5 administrative units within the Kukes Municipality to provide child-rights protection, promote inter-youth dialogues, and education to help reduce/end violence against and among children/young people from social media and other online and offline factors/actors.
Objective 2: Enhance collaboration among caregivers and service planners in order to support greater involvement of service users (in this case, children) to develop effective tools for child victims and potential victims of abuse and violence from social media and other online and offline factors/actors.
Strengthening child protection professionals' capacities to prevent and protect LGBT children from violence and abuse in Albania
Lezha, Tirana, Fier and Vlora Municipalities
Overall Objective: To contribute to strengthening child protection professionals’ capacities to prevent and protect LGBT children from violence and abuse in Albania
Objective I: Strengthening the capacity of professionals involved in the child protection system (inter - sectorial group) by producing a guideline on protecting LGBTI children from violence and abuse and delivering tailored services to LGBTI children.
Objective 2: Strengthening the professional capacity of those involved in the child protection system (inter - sectorial group) in Lezhe, Tirana, Fier and Vlore by delivering trainings on how to better protect and assist LGBTI children.
