[European Union] The call for proposals for Action Grants 2019 are open!

European Commission has launched call for proposals for Action Grants 2019.

Two topics are particularly interesting for child protection and chid rights related actors:

The call for proposals on capacity-building in the area of rights of the child and child-friendly justice has been opened on Janaury 15th witha deadline on May 14th, 2019. The call for proposals to prevent and combat all forms of violence against children, young people and women was announced on 15th, but will officially be open on January 31st 2019, with the expected deadline on June 13, 2019.

 

The call for proposals to prevent and combat all forms of violence against children, young people and women has following priorities:

  • Preventing and combating gender-based violence - Indicative amount: € 7 020 000
  • Preventing and combating violence against children - Indicative amount: € 4 680 000

And activities shall include:

- awareness-raising and empowerment activities;

- capacity-building and training for professionals;

- design and implementation of protocols, development of working methods and tools;

- exchange of good practices, mutual learning;

The preference for practical projects is indicated, and applicants are urged to include public authorities in their projects.

Activities must take place in countries participating to the REC Programme to be eligible for funding.

The priorities under the call for proposals on capacity-building in the area of rights of the child and child-friendly justice are:

  • Systemised and further rolled out evidence-based supports to children involved in criminal, civil or administrative judicial proceedings
  • Capacity-building for judicial and other practitioners/professionals involved in systemising robust, multidisciplinary individual assessments
