Germany makes measles vaccination mandatory; parents fined if they violate new legalisation.

From March 2020 parents and caregivers will have to demonstrate that their children have been vaccinated before they can go to kindergarten/daycare  or school. The rule applies to the staff of day-care centres, schools, medical facilities, and communal facilities such as refugee shelters.

Violations can lead to fines of up to €2,500.

Health Minister Jens Spahn said, 'This is a child protection law in the truest sense of the word' and 'in the future no one has to suffer from measles anymore'.
