In Hungary, June is about cyberbullying due to a new campaign, and the timing is very topical. Experts say quarantine over the epidemic is causing an increase in online abuse. According to UNICEF data, in Hungary 88% of children aged 10-18 are present on social media, 20% of them have been victims of online abuse, and 10% have been bullying themselves.
The Kék Vonal Foundation and UNICEF Hungary are running a joint campaign called #nemvagyegyedül (“you are not alone”), to raise awareness of cyberbullying.
Experts argue that more serious cases will be made public in June and July when with the easing of the lockdown rules, victims will have more opportunities to report what happened.
The aim of the campaign videos is to reach the target audience, and the message: in case of trouble call 116-111, or visit the chat window on kek-vonal.hu website.
