UNESCO has provided 10 recommendations for distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused the closure of schools.

These recommendations include:

  • assessing the availability of technological resources for students and teachers,
  • ensuring children of all learning abilities are included and appropriately tasked,
  • protecting data privacy,
  • addressing psychosocial challenges like isolation,
  • providing teachers and parents with tech training,
  • making sure not to overload parents,
  • establishing a system of rules and feedback,
  • and maintaining a community of connection.
