As part of the ‘Child Protection System Strengthening for Children in Conflict with the Law’ project, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Matra-programme, Defence for Children - ECPAT Youth the Netherlands, Terre des hommes Kosovo, and Terre des hommes Albania have established a bilateral exchange between experts and government representatives to strengthen the protection of children in conflict with the law in Kosovo and Albania.

During this study visit, experts on child protection and government stakeholders from Kosovo and Albania took part in field visits, workshops, and discussions with Dutch experts to learn about aspects of the Dutch child protection and justice systems to strengthen the rights of children in conflict with the law in Kosovo and Albania.

Kosovar participants will work on developing a sub-legal act, ‘Help and Protection Measures for the Child as an Offender of a Criminal Offence under the Age of Criminal Responsibility’, while Albanian participants will work on developing a protocol on ‘Child Protection for Juvenile Offenders in Conflict with the Law’.
