The first Steering Committee meeting of the ‘Protect children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse’ project was organised by the Council of Europe in Chisinau, on 23 January 23. The meeting provided an opportunity for partners to discuss and adopt plans for 2019, when most of the project activities will be implemented. ‘The project aims at supporting the Republic of Moldova to effectively implement the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse (the Lanzarote Convention), strengthen the state response towards child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse and promote child-friendly practices especially for the judiciary’.
