This document sets the priorities of Council of Europe regarding the protection of the Children’s Rights for the period 2016-2021. It outlines 5 priority areas for guarantying the rights of the child: equal opportunities, participation, a life free from violence, friendly justice and rights in the digital environment.

It also looks at the achievements and challenges of past CoE actions to reflect on, sets the above mentions priority areas and defines the working methodology for delivering the future action.

The strategy is the product of wide consultations with member states, civil society representatives, ombudspersons, international organizations and children themselves.
