The protection and rights of children have been a fundamental aspect of international systems of human rights. The objective of this document is to contribute to the raising level of protection of children rights.

Through a multidimensional approach, this document presents information on three different levels; at an international level, at the European level and at the national level.

The manual is specifically written to give organization the knowledge and strategies necessary to protect children from sexual violence and sexual exploitation, in both man made circumstances and in emergency situations.
