Final Report of the Red Cross of Serbia "Mapping children and youth outside the education system in rural areas" is made within the "Joint program for inclusion of roma children and children from sensitive groups in education", which was implemented by the Red Cross with the support of the SDC - Swiss Agency for Risk and Cooperation.
In the period from 2016 to mid-2017, the Red Cross of Serbia conducted mapping in 12 cities and municipalities in Serbia, including 86 remote rural communities with a total of 1,006 families and 1,754 children and young people, in order to determine the degree of exclusion of children and youth from the educational system in rural areas.
The reason for starting this mapping is data indicating that the poverty rate in rural Serbia is 38.6%, and that the rural population faces major problems of poverty and social exclusion in all dimensions, especially single households, children under 14 and uneducated.
Data collected by mapping related to children who are not included in the education system or have fallen out of the education system. The age of children involved in mapping is 3 to 14 years old.
