A handbook for frontline professionals

Council of Europe has produced a handbook that contains comprehensive guidance for frontline professionals working with migrant minors on how to communicate information about children`s rights in a child-friendly and age-appropriate manner. The handbook is very practical and contains useful advice for professionals, as well as a summary of good practices that can be adapted to different contexts. In this document you can learn about transversal concepts (what child-friendly information means, how to communicate in a child-friendly way, building trust..) as well as who should talk to children and what information is essential to communicate when the child arrives to the border, in relation to the age assessment and identification, child protection, access to guardianship and legal advice, immigration and asylum procedures.
