Final Report

The aim of the Positive Discipline in Everyday Parenting (PDEP) programme is to reduce corporal punishment by parents and their approval of the corporal punishment use in the child`s upbringing. It is based on a theory that ‘a person’s behavioural beliefs determine whether the person perceives that behaviour as positive or negative’. Through a series of interactive activities and problem-solving exercises tested in 30 countries, the programme focuses on explaining to the parents on one side the long-term negative consequences of corporal punishment and on the other benefits from developing trust, attachment and healthy communication with a child.

In this document you can find out more about the PDEP approach, implementation of the approach in Kosovo, the impact of the programme for the participating caregivers and their children, costs, as well as conclusions and recommendations for the future.
