Date of publication:  21 Oct 2010 Authors:  Louise Drammeh Publisher:  Council of Europe Publication type:  Toolkit / Handbook / Manual

The handbook offers practical training and advice for front-line professionals involved in the design, implementation and review of Life Projects, as defined in Council of Europe Recommendation CM/Rec(2007) of the Committee of Ministers to member states on life projects for unaccompanied migrant minors.

The handbook includes a chapter on the essential background information, including concepts, principles and other relevant information, allowing professionals to situate their work within the multidisciplinary context of child protection. It furthermore outlines the roles of stakeholders, keeping the best interests and rights of minors at the forefront throughout the handbook. The main part of the handbook, however, provides the practical know-how for the professionals, by considering how to translate the principles outlines in the theoretical part into the action.
