We are presenting this report (in Bulgarian) created by the Know-How Center for the Alternative Care for Children, NBU, entitled "The Process of Deinstitutionalization From a First-Person Point of View". The text looks at problems and recommendations related to child care which have been identified, within 10 meetings with the center's team, by 11 young people who have lived in institutions. The topics discussed are:

  •     Supporting the biological family (prevention of placement of children in institutions and reintegration into the biological or extended family).
  •     Living in residential care, preparing and moving children from community institutions.
  •     Preparation of professionals working with children.
  •     Managing and financing the deinstitutionalization process.
