Protecting Children from British Sex Offenders Who Travel

ECPAT UK is launching this report to remind the UK government that it is lagging well behind other countries in its response to traveling sex offenders and that much more needs to be done through policy and practice to protect children from sex offenders who travel. Simply training foreign police is not enough and if this has been the core of the UK agenda then it is failing, woefully. ECPAT UK continues to be alarmed by the lack of published data on this area of violent crime and calls for a clear cross-government strategy to inform law enforcement responses and send out a strong message that the abuse of children by British nationals will not be tolerated anywhere.
