Since 2006, Terre des hommes (Tdh), in collaboration with Common Actions Against Poverty (CAAP), implemented a programme to encourage ‘Income Generating Activities’ and offer an economic alternative to extreme poverty for some of the most vulnerable families of Roma and Egyptian living in Albania. This report looks at two of the three projects implemented, namely "Support to the Embroidery Association for Roma and Egyptian mothers in Korce" and "Support for the Romani Baxt paper recycling business in Tirana". The results of different types of Income Generating Activites are assessed in two aspects, whether they led to sustainable incomes and whether they contributed to the protection of children in the cities of Tirana and Korce.
