This research elaborates on the factors that impair the mental health of people with disabilities during the pandemic period. People with disabilities face barriers that prevent them from accessing care and basic information to reduce the risk of COVID-19, which in turn affects mental well-being.

These barriers are categorized into:

  • Environmental barriers
  • Institutional barriers
  • Behavioral barriers

Further, this research provides recommendations for people with disabilities, caregivers and the community on how to manage stress and maintain mental health throughout the situation created by COVID-19.
