Start and finish time of webinar
2-3pm CET

The second part of our mini-webinar series on forensic interviews will be hosted in Barnahus on 7 March, at 2pm CET.  We will present strategies and approaches to meeting the individual needs of every child, and ensuring equitable access to child-friendly justice by including adaptations for children with disabilities or language barriers (eg. interpretation). The webinar will also discuss adapting interviews for different age groups, and what can be expected from children of different ages.

About the speaker:

Gordana Buljan Flander (PhD) is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and the director of the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb. She has worked with children for over 30 years, and was amongst the first professionals in Croatia who recognized the importance of addressing child abuse and neglect. In 1997 she founded the helpline for abused and neglected children; in 2002 she initiated the foundation of the Child Protection Center of Zagreb – the only health care institution specialized in working with traumatized children in Croatia.

Besides working directly with children and families, she is an active academic and has written seven books and several scientific papers. She lectures at several universities, is a Court Expert for psychology, conducts trainings in domestic, regional and international settings, and shares her experiences with other professionals in Croatia and worldwide.

Other parts of this mini-series:

The first discussion on the importance of forensic interviews for child victims and witnesses of violence in criminal proceedings was held on 14 February – the recording is available here! The third session in this mini-series was held on 14 March, on preventing re-victimization when conducting forensic interviews at the Barnahus.
