About webinar:
Webinar "Improving the competencies of professionals who work with street involved children" involves familiarizing participants with relevant topics, important for working with this group of children and young people, starting from getting to know the phenomenon of "street children" to understanding the importance and the way of protecting their rights.
The focus of the webinar is on participation as a key concept for achieving the best interests of children. What is the importance of participation, not only in some, but in all segments of work with these children (admission, triage, assessment, individual plans, etc.), which forms of discrimination and prejudice these children are facing with – are only some of the questions that are going to be discussed during the webinar.
Also, special attention will be focused on developing communication skills with this specific group of children and understanding all necessary steps in the process of determining the best interests of street involved children.
About lecturer:
Slavica Milojević is a graduated social worker and she is employed at the Republic Institute for Social Protection in Serbia, as Head of Information, Promotion and Support Department.
Slavica has a 30-year experience in the social welfare system and, among other things, she worked as an advisor to the Minister for Social Work; an expert associate for the social welfare of refugees at the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia; an expert associate in the family team at the Center for Social Work and several years she was also the Coordinator of the Department for organizational development and youth development in the Red Cross.
During her previous engagement, Slavica Milojevic participated in the realization of numerous national and international projects; in numerous researches within the field of social protection system; wrote scientific and professional papers and created and realized dozens of trainings and workshops for professionals.
