In 2018, the mission of Terre des hommes in Albania has started implementing the project "Restoration approaches - Alternative for children in conflict with the law", a project which is funded by the European Union and implemented by Terre des hommes Albania, in partnership with the Conflict Resolution Foundation and Dispute Reconciliation (AFCR) and Terre des hommes Hungary.

This initiative aims to contribute to the respect of human rights and especially to children / youth in conflict or in contact with the law, encouraging the implementation of restorative approaches and the prevention of imprisonment based on the Criminal Code for Juveniles in Albania. In addition to increasing the knowledge among actors working in the field of restorative justice, this initiative aims to promote the effectiveness of implementing restorative approaches by developing practices and guidelines for key actors on the use of alternative and reintegration measures.

This webinar is the second in a series of webinars organized within the framework of restorative justice initiative, and is an opportunity for institutional and non-institutional actors to discuss issues such as how the media reports and has to report cases of children in conflict / contact with the law.

Webinar, "Media and children in conflict with the law" will present the ethical principles of drafting and broadcasting a news item where the children in conflict with the law are at the center; how media should be used by child protection professionals so as not to violate the privacy and image of the child but to make good use of it in raising awareness of all social actors and ongoing support for children etc.
