The webinar features keynote speakers Ann Lind-Liiberg from the Social Insurance Board of Estonia and Beata Wojtkowska from the Empowering Children Foundation in Poland. Join the webianr to:
- hear about the method and outcome of a consultation with children on their opinion of a service’s setup,
- discuss ways to continually receive and integrate feedback from children, caregivers and professionals,
- learn about the practicalities of planning, decorating and equipping a service.
This webinar is aimed at professionals who are in all stages of preparing, planning, and continually improving Barnahus or similar setups which are providing a multidisciplinary and interagency response to child victims and witnesses of violence. About the presenters:
Beata Wojtkowska graduated from Faculty of Modern Languages at the Warsaw University and Faculty of International Relations at the Colegium Civitas in Poland. For almost 7 years she has been working for the Polish NGO Empowering Children Foundation as a local and international projects manager, including projects targeting refugee children and aimed at prevention of sexual abuse and exploitation of children. Since April 2017 she has been the coordinator of Warsaw’s Barnahus pilot program. She has been also involved in developing the Barnahus network in Poland.
Ann Lind-Liiberg has graduated faculty of Social Sciences in University of Tallinn while working with underage victims of violence and youth offenders in a field of social work in Tallinn. After joining the department of Children and Families in Ministry of Social Affairs as an adviser of child protection issues in 2011 her main accomplishment was launching Estonian first Barnahus in 2017. Now working as a project manager at Estonian Social Insurance Board where coordinates prevention and training projects in Child Protection Department as part of a Children´s House currently 7-member team. Being keen on practical issues in adapting Barnahus model especially designing it flexible and friendly for children and families, current position gives possibilities to adapt fresh ideas to a Children´s House daily routine in now 2 centres in Estonia.
